Masters at Arms trophies for male and female fencers will be awarded for the best combined results by a Devon fencer across all three weapons of the Devon County Championships

Open to any fencer aged 13 or over on the day of the Epée competition.

Those who do not reside or fence in Devon may enter all three weapons at the reduced fee, but will not be eligible for the Master at Arms title.

All eligible fencers will receive South West Regional Ranking points

In each weapon:

One seeding round of poules will be followed by full Direct Elimination tableaux.

Depending on entry for both genders, the seeding round may be combined.

Medals for each gender will be awarded to the top four, the best Veteran (aged over 40 on 1st January 2023), and the best Cadet (aged under 17 on 1st January 2023).

Mixed Plate competitions will be included if time permits, but will not count towards the Masters at Arms.

The Masters at Arms standings will be calculated using the Regional Ranking points earned in each weapon, to take account of the relative strength of field in each one.

These are qualifying events for the Devon County Team.

If you are selected to represent Devon, entry to these events gives free entry to the Excalibur Inter-County Competition (planned to be held in April 2023).

Current membership of British Fencing at Compete level is required for all fencers.

Fencers must use at least 800N plastrons and 350N jackets and breeches.

Tea and coffee will be available. There are no refreshment facilities at St. Luke’s, but it is a short walk to a supermarket.
