Devon County Fencing Union AGM 2020

Notice of AGM at 19:30 on Sunday 18th October 2020

The Covid-19 Pandemic obliges us to rethink the way we can have our AGM, and we are opting this year to run it as a remote meeting via Zoom. Indeed, this does seem the way to conduct meetings of this type for the long term. It is timewise efficient in that there is no journey time, and ecologically we have saved the planet the pollution from our transport. As a bonus, DCFU does not incur the cost of hiring a hall. The Zoom app is free to download to any laptop or smartphone, and participation via conventional telephone dial-in is also supported.

If you would like to take part, please confirm interest to Jim via swordsman@salago.com or 07956 391751. We will provide a meeting reference and passcode, and you can join the AGM from wherever you are.

The officers’ reports will be circulated a few days prior to the meeting by e-mail to those who have confirmed interest, and will also be available via the DCFU website (LINK TBC).

The Zoom meeting will start at 19.30. The ‘waiting room’ will be available from 19:10, where we will be available to greet you.

Would any officers who do not wish to be re-elected please advise me or Ralph Mills, so that thought can be given to finding nominees for your post. Similarly, anyone else who would be interested in taking on one of the officer roles is welcome to make their interest known.
