The Okehampton OPEN Sabre 2026

This is a charity competition in aid of Devon Air Ambulance.
Entry is open to any fencer who is resident or fences in the SW Region.

Entry is open to any fencer aged 13 or over on the day of the event.
All eligible fencers will receive South West Regional Ranking points
Competition Format:
Two rounds of poules followed by full Direct Elimination tableaux.
Depending on entry numbers, the first poule round may be mixed.
Medals for each gender will be awarded to the top four,
the best Veteran (aged over 40 on 1st January 2026 i.e. born in 1985 or earlier),
and the best Cadet (aged under 17 on 1st January 2026 i.e. born in 2009 or later).
A mixed Plate competition will be included if time permits.
Minimum kit standard:
Current membership of British Fencing at Compete level is required for all fencers.
Fencers must use at least 800N plastrons & gloves, 350N jackets/breeches, and size 5 sabres.
Entry Fees:
Standard fee £25.00.
Early bird fee £20.00 for entries received & paid by 23:59 on Monday 2nd November.
Entry deadline: 23:59 on Thursday 12th November.
